Welcome to the latest edition of the Addiscombe Update. We would like to keep you updated about crime and policing information in the Addiscombe area.
Local police officers, together with the ward panel members for Addiscombe have set two ‘ward promises’. These promises are what your local policing team will focus their efforts on in order to reduce crime in the area.
- Burglary – We are still conducting high visibility patrols on the ward, as well as handing our crime prevention and security advice. Please make sure windows and doors are locked when leaving your homes.
- Anti-social behaviour by Youths – We are still experiencing a problem with youths on the ward in certain areas. We are still monitoring this. We have increased our high visibility patrols and also given residents our contact details to update us with further information.
Please call your local police team or the non-emergency number 101 unless in an emergency then call 999.
- Addiscombe received some information about a possible cannabis factory in Cherry Orchard Road after we investigated these claims we attended the address and found a substantial amount of harvested cannabis. The cannabis factory was in two of the main rooms of the flat and it also took up a majority of the attic. We closed this factory down, destroyed the equipment and handed the property back to the landlords.
- Lebanon Road has been highlighted to us recently for vehicles travelling the wrong way down the road as it is now one way, we have conducted several traffic operations in the area and handed out quite a few tickets and advice has been given. We will be conducting more traffic operations in the area on other one way roads in Addiscombe.
Our ward panel meeting is on the 13th October at the Town Hall from 1930 onwards. If you would like to attend please drop us an email. It is an open invite to anyone who lives or works on the Addiscombe ward.
