Croydon Council and Network Rail have signed an agreement to complete the works required before the pedestrian bridge at East Croydon station can be opened to the public from its eastern end. It is expected that work will be completed in spring 2027. However, this will not include ticket barriers to the platforms on the eastern side of the bridge. National Rail are waiting to see if there is a demand for their use before planning their installation. Once the bridge is open Croydon Council will be responsible for cleaning maintenance, Network Rail for structural maintenance and Menta for the structures they have built.
A Diversity Impact Assessment has been completed for this project. ECCO will be submitting a Freedom of Information Act request to obtain a copy of this, as it contains personal information that needs to be removed first according to Data Protection guidelines.
