Who fancies a bit of seasonal community service?
A chance to wrap up warm and get a little exercise while doing some local gardening.
A reminder to readers: Goodgym (a charity which combines community service with keeping fit) has for several years helped to keep The Boulevard in shape. The Boulevard was the original name of the stretch of the Addiscombe Road running from Bisenden Road to East Croydon Station which has planted areas on the edge of the footway.
Goodgym members will arrive at about 7.20 pm and put in about 50 minutes hard shift removing litter, ivy, weeds and overgrowth of shrubs from the planted areas. They will not intentionally destroy flowers and shrubs.
Community members and friends are respectfully invited to assist in Goodgym’s endeavours to make East Croydon tidier. Please come and join them. Please feel free to spread details on social media.
Please bring loppers/shears if you have them. If you do not, please still come – spare loppers and shears will be available, as well as litter-picks, protective gloves, hi-vis jackets and much more.
Conroy Barnett is once again leading the Goodgym team. I shall be present to prove old age is not a barrier to making the occasional community contribution. Please join me.
The meeting point will be the planted areas at the junction of Brickwood Road and Addiscombe Road.
PLEASE MAKE A NOTE IN YOUR DIARY FOR NEXT TUESDAY – 30 NOVEMBER
