East Croydon volunteer weeders and litter-pickers – this is news of the year’s first opportunity.

Indeed,  the first opportunity since the lockdown of March 2020.

A reminder to readers:  Goodgym (a charity which combines community service with keeping fit) has for several years helped to keep The Boulevard in shape.   The Boulevard was the original name of the stretch of the Addiscombe Road running from Bisenden Road to East Croydon Station which has planted areas on the edge of the footway.

The meeting point will be the planted areas at the junction of Blake Road and Addiscombe Road.

Goodgym members will arrive at about 7.30 pm and put in an hour’s hard shift removing litter,  ivy,  weeds and overgrowth of shrubs from the planted areas.   They will not intentionally destroy flowers and shrubs.

Community members and friends are respectfully invited to assist in Goodgym’s endeavours to make East Croydon tidier.   Please come and join them.   Please feel free to spread details on social media.

Please bring loppers/shears if you have them.   If you do not,  please still come – spare loppers and shears will be available.

Tony Skrzypczyk of the ECCO Steering Group will be in charge.  Conroy Barnett is leading the Goodgym team.
