Network Rail’s proposals are intended to bring about a more reliable, frequent and faster rail service for passengers in and around Croydon, by
- unblocking ‘the bottleneck’ in the Selhurst Triangle just outside Croydon, known for causing congestion and train delays. This will involve demolishing and rebuilding Windmill Bridge (where St James Road and Lower Addiscombe Road meet)
- rebuilding East Croydon station to include a large concourse and two additional platforms, with improved facilities for passengers.
The detailed proposals can be viewed online from Monday, 1 June. People will be able to
- speak with Network Rail’s project team, including designers and engineers, using a live online chat facility until 28 June.
- share their views on a dedicated hotline 020 7118 0684 until 17 July.
