Master thesis on regeneration in Croydon and how it affects the local community

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Sara and I am a master student in Urban Studies at University College London. I am currently writing my master thesis on regeneration in Croydon and how it affects the local community. Thus, I would be very interested if you  Would be willing to answer a few of my questions.

I started my dissertation research against the backdrop of the Supplementary Planning Guidance to the London Plan, “Planning for Equality and Diversity in London”, which recognises that diverse communities are often subjected to inequalities and states that ‘matching regeneration efforts to areas of deprivation is a key way that disadvantage and deprivation can be tackled through spatial planning’. However, while research suggests that urban regeneration in London has been beneficial in creating economic and cultural revitalisation, it lacks behind in terms of social inclusion and social sustainability, and may well be implicated in contributing to the widening of social and economic inequalities.

I attached a brief description of my dissertation and my questions in a word document.

If you would like to answer the questions please update the document and send it back to my email:

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

With kind regards,

Sara Özogul
