You are invited to the Croydon Fun Palace in the Whitgift Centre, Croydon this weekend (Oct 4-5).
The Fun Palace is open to everyone on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 5pm. You can find it in the large shop unit next to the Aquazoo near the Wellesley Road entrance to the Whitgift Centre.
In the shop unit you can try out activities such as 3d design, scanning and printing, ice cream making, astronomy, gardening, filmmaking, craft and upcycling. In the unit and on the terrace below (formerly the bhs café) you will find apple-pressing, a pedal-powered disco, musical fruit and veg, theatre and singing performances and dancing by the top azonto duo Selasi and KB. There will also be an explorer trail setting off from here around the local area.
The Croydon Fun Palace is one of 150 fun palaces open this weekend to encourage community participation in the arts, sciences and technology in the spirit of the visionary theatre director/producer Joan Littlewood (1914-2002).
Please distribute this to any other friends or members of your organisations.
