Help improve the Joan Pick bed, drop-in 2-3.30pm Saturday, 31 October on Addiscombe Road (between Chisholm Rd and Bisenden Rd) #croydon

ECCO has been awarded a grant of £100 from Croydon Community Energy (CCE) in order to enhance the Joan Pick legacy bed at the eastern junction of Addiscombe Road and Bisenden Road. Thank you CCE.

Please look at the bed. It is in front of the Joan Pick memorial tree and in the front centre of the bed. It is such a pleasant oasis in a drab streetscape. The CCE grant has been used to buy seeds and shrubs to be planted in the bed and bark to be used to renew the horseshoe which demarcates the bed.

Our project leader Andrea Perry is asking for your assistance to
– renew the bark boundary
– plant the new flowers and shrubs
– weed
– remove litter.

You don’t need to be an experienced gardener to assist. You don’t have to worry about equipment and gloves – all will be provided.

Please join this community venture if you have the time. It doesn’t have to be the full 90 minutes – 30 minutes would be very helpful.
ECCO is extremely grateful to Tracey Bellamy, the Council officer who supports volunteer clean and green work, and provides and collects the equipment.
