Thank you so much to those who volunteered on 7 July. We had a great session and the bed looks much the better for it.Since the start of the hot weather, the bed has been watered several times each day. A burdensome chore but a necessary one. As a result the planets and shrubs have survived unscathed.
Volunteers are requested to join the session for all or as much of the session as the volunteer can spare. The work will entail:
– clearing the leaves and weeds between front wall and pavement
– cutting back the grass in the left-hand corner facing the tram tracks
– planting flowers, shrubs and seeds
– cutting a 20 cm path in the grass between the Joan Pick tree and the bed and all around the back of the ‘fence’ to the two corners meeting the wall.
As ever, equipment will be provided, Many thanks to Tracey Bellamy, the Council officer who supports volunteer clean and green work.
