Help improve the Bisenden bed on Addiscombe Road 6.30-8pm Thursday, 14 May #croydon

The front of the Bisenden bed (planted in memory of local environmental campaigner Joan Pick) provided much life and colour last year.  Local residents and casual passers-by noted it with great pleasure.

Please join the work session on upcoming Thursday 14 May afternoon to take the project forward.  It starts at 6.30 pm and ends at 8. Come for part of the time if you can’t spare 90 minutes.  The session will go ahead even if there is a little rain.

The Bisenden bed is located at the eastern junction of Bisenden Road and Addiscombe Road.

As ever,  equipment will be provided,  Many thanks to Tracey Bellamy,  the Council officer who supports volunteer clean and green work.

The work will entail:

  1. Clearing the leaves and weeds between front wall and pavement
  2. Cutting back the grass in the left-hand corner facing the tram tracks
  3. Planting out some spring cover, flowers, shrubs and seeds
  4. Cutting a 20 cm path in the grass between the Joan Pick tree and the bed and all round the back of the ‘fence’ to the two corners meeting the wall
