Questions to be ask about the pedestrian bridge at ECCO AGM, 7.30pm Tuesday 16 July at Christ Church, 114 Lower Addiscombe Road @yourcroydon @NetworkrailSE

Our pedestrian bridge – millions spent – all main parts constructed – and still not open – why?

We were relieved to see in April that after a 10 year wait, the bridge link had been completed. So why are we still waiting for the link to be attached to the bridge so that we can walk across it?

The AGM will be a rare – perhaps unique – opportunity for local residents to hear first-hand from all the main parties. Representatives from Croydon Council,  Menta and Network Rail will be present. They will face questions on the following issues:

  • How much they have already spent on constructing this yet to be completed bridge
  • What construction issue if any is preventing the completion:  we believe there may be a dispute as to responsibility for attaching the link
  • Which party will take legal responsibility for maintaining the new link:  we believe this may be in dispute
  • Why were not issues in dispute not resolved when the bridge project was undertaken a decade ago
  • What are the parties now doing to resolve the dispute

Do you have a question to put:  if so,  please send it to Steering Group member,  Jerry Fitzpatrick,  who will be moderating the discussion between the representatives:  email Jerry at jerryfitzmsp@gmail.com
