South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) has opened a ‘phone-first’ assessment service for both adults and children.

If you need urgent mental health care, ring 0800 731 2864.  

You will be screened to ensure that you don’t have any physical health problems that require urgent medical attention first. Then, if necessary, you can be referred to one of two dedicated mental health assessment units, based at Maudsley Hospital Outpatients Department in Denmark Hill or the Ladywell Unit in Lewisham.
