The planning department has been alerted to the deterioration of the building, which will affect its future viability as a pub, because of the cost of remedial works. The planning officers will be copied in to future correspondence with the owners.
Next steps include increasing the publicity about the campaign, encouraging the owners to market the premises at a pub valuation in line with the local plan and the pub’s Asset of Community Value status, and insisting that the owners answer the questions submitted and allow an independent valuation to take place.
