In recent weeks, the Council has erected new poles on our streets in order to display parking notices. Some have been put in places detrimental to adjacent occupiers and were moved when they complained.
Many residents are asking why these notices could not have been placed on existing poles. We understand that some street furniture is necessary, but it should be kept to a minimum.

Far too much street furniture is arriving on our streets. ~It seems to be an attractive dumping ground for household rubbish. People seem to think they are placed against which to dump rubbish. God knows how many more are going to appear on our streets. We have enough problems here with the houses inn multiple occupation and the tenants who don’t really give a damn about their environment or what it looks like.Miriam Heyburn
