New pay and display parking machines are being installed on many of our streets, nearly all of them solar powered.  This follows a pilot scheme started in June 2015 to reduce the number of thefts of cash, by reducing the number of machines.

Several signs are being installed on each street to direct people to the nearest machine.  These also give the telephone number that motorists can ring instead to pay for their parking with a credit or debit card.
