A GP hub will open in March in the extension of East Croydon Medical Centre at 2 Brickwood Road. People living in central and north Croydon who ring 111 and require urgent care (but can’t get to see their GPs) will be directed to the hub seven days a week, 8am-8pm.  The hub will have its own GPs, nurses and reception. There will be GP hubs in New Addington and Purley as well. They are some of the measures to reduce the number of people going to Accident and Emergency departments at hospitals.

A lift will be constructed in the porch to the Medical Centre at 59 Addiscombe Road between April and July. It will provide better access to the first floor of that building only.
