Many of you will know Christine Thomas from the wonderful support she has given to our Big Lunches and our first Hallowe’en event

From the 8th January, Christine, and her friend Marie, will be cycling from Bangkok to Saigon to raise money for Breathe Magic, an innovative intensive therapy programme for young people with hemiplegia.

This condition results from brain injury and causes a weakness or paralysis on one side of the body. It affects 1 in 1300 young people, making it very difficult or impossible for them to do independently many daily tasks, like getting dressed.

In a two week Magic Camp, these young people learn to become magicians. Every trick they are taught has been carefully designed to incorporate the NICE recommended occupational therapy exercises needed to improve their hand and arm functions.
