Goodgym are back on 13 May for their second community tidy-up of the year. They are a charity which combines community service with keeping fit and have for several years helped to keep The Boulevard in shape. The Boulevard was the original name of the stretch of the Addiscombe Road running from Bisenden Road to East Croydon Station which has planted areas on the edge of the footway.
Goodgym members will put in about 50 minutes hard shift removing litter, ivy, weeds and overgrowth of shrubs from the planted areas. They will not intentionally destroy flowers and shrubs.
There will also be work on the Joan Pick legacy bed. Andrea Perry recently renewed the borders and planted some colourful flowers and shrubs which delighted us in April. But they are almost now hidden by a glut of weeds.
Community members and friends are respectfully invited to assist in Goodgym’s endeavours to make East Croydon tidier. Please come and join them. Please feel free to spread details on social media.
Loppers and shears will be available, as well as litter-picks, protective gloves, hi-vis jackets and much more. Do bring your own equipment if you have it.
