Between November 2023 and March 2025, the ECCO area gained 18 new businesses and organisations, but lost 27.  Many of the businesses that left were restaurants, takeaways, beauty salons, hairdressers & barbers – often replaced by similar businesses in the same premises.  An exception was the closure of Francis Chappell & Sons, the funeral director, formerly in Lower Addiscombe Road.  Other notable losses include the Banana Leaf restaurant, Flavour Boss Jerk Centre and the Tota Cafe. Overall, only one further shop premises was left empty.

Many of the losses were in our main office blocks. Those business that have left One Croydon may have done so because the owner is seeking to turn it into an apartment block. Those who have left Stephenson House and Knolly’s House may have done so because of its extensive refurbishment, recently completed. It is now known as Mosaic East.
