Caryl Brahms was born Doris Caroline Abrahams on 8 December 1901 to Jewish parents in Morland Road. She wrote numerous short stories, detective & historical novels, scripts for plays & musicals, as well a contributing material for seminal TV series such as That Was The Week That Was.
