Croydon Council has organised four drop-in sessions to get your views on proposals to rearrange traffic movements in East Croydon, and parts of Addiscombe and Shirley. These proposals may lead to significant changes in traffic movements in your road.
There were four drop-in sessions in November 2023. Following these, representatives of residents’ groups brainstormed ideas for changes to traffic flows. Consultants have worked some of these ideas into proposals which will be presented at the upcoming drop-in sessions.
ECCO representatives in the process have focused on putting forward ideas to make our local roads safer and healthier for all our residents, young and old, driver, cyclist and pedestrian. They do not wish this project to be merely an exercise in re-siphoning non-residential traffic movements from one road to another.
The four 2023 drop-in sessions were held in different locations in the potentially affected areas. This gave us all the maximum opportunity to participate. This time around all four sessions are being held in St Mildred’s, Bingham Road, making attendance for some ECCO residents much more difficult. ECCO brought this to the Council’s attention but to no avail.
Proposed changes within the ECCO area directly affect the following roads (although changes on roads outside the ECCO area will have knock-on affects as well)
- Leslie Park Road
- Lower Addiscombe Road
- Oval Road
- Lebanon Road
