Goodgym (a charity which combines community service with keeping fit) has for several years helped to keep The Boulevard in shape. The Boulevard is the popular name of the stretch of the Addiscombe Road running from Bisenden Road to Colson Road which has planted areas on the edge of the footway. It is the last remnant of the Brickwood Estate.
Goodgym members will put in about 50 minutes hard shift removing litter, ivy, weeds and overgrowth of shrubs from the planted areas. They will not intentionally destroy flowers and shrubs.
Community members and friends are respectfully invited to assist in Goodgym’s endeavours to make East Croydon tidier. Please come and join them. Please feel free to spread details on social media.
Loppers and shears will be available, as well as litter-picks, protective gloves, hi-vis jackets and much more. Do bring your own equipment if you have it.
Liz Jones is once again leading the Goodgym team. I shall be there and look forward to seeing ECCO friends and neighbours, and indeed anyone from any area willing to get out on what is forecast to be a largely dry evening.
