Joan Pick (1940-2017) was known as “the running lady”, an environmental campaigner whose personal carbon footprint was close to zero. She lived on Turnpike Link and often ran along Addiscombe Road.
10.30-11.15am Join us at the raised bed on the corner of Bisenden Road and Addiscombe Road. Children from Tunstall Nursery and older people from Peony Court will be planting colourful plants and shrubs in front of the tree which was planted in Joan’s honour in 2017.
11.15-11.30am Councillor Humayun Kabir will install a plaque dedicated to Joan and there will be short speeches in honour of Joan.
11.30-12.30am Jerry Fitzpatrick, ECCO steering group member, will be providing coffee and cake nearby at 6 Blake Road.
2.30-3.30pm Tunstall Nursery children, Peony Court residents and local volunteers will create a mural themed “Our Future – What we Love” at Peony Court Care Home, 58 Addiscombe Road.
