Do you have photos from gigs, taken at iconic Croydon venues such as the Greyhound? Have you kept t-shirts, beer mats, tickets or flyers from venues, past and present? Or maybe you have badges or other memorabilia from your favourite local bands? In early 2024, the Museum of Croydon will open a music exhibition, celebrating local people, places and occasions. It will feature memories from those who experienced the scene firsthand, as well as images and objects that we need your help in sourcing.
On Saturday 4 November between 4-7pm, to coincide with two screenings in the Punk Film Festival, the exhibition team will be at the David Lean Cinema to meet anyone with items they’d like to share, with a scanner ready to make copies of any images, tickets and flyers you’d be willing to contribute. We won’t retain originals; we’ll make copies and note your contact information. If you have items too fragile or bulky to bring, feel free to bring pictures of them on your phone to show the team.
If you can’t come on this day but would like to contribute, please contact the exhibition’s curator Jen at croydonmusicheritage@gmail.com. |
