The building dates from at least 1835, when the Horse and Groom public house is recorded on the site. At the time, most of the people in the ECCO area lived on Cross Road or the nearest stretch of Cherry Orchard Road. In 1993 the pub was renamed The Grouse and Claret and noted for the performance of jazz music. Finally renamed The Glamorgan, it closed in November 2016.
