Apply to be a director of Croydon Community Energy by 7 July @CroydonEnergy @GreenpeaceCroy @XRCroydon @CroydonFOE @CroydonClimateAction

Community energy is a growing element in the transition to a green economy, with over 300 similar organisations across the UK, according to Community Energy England’s State of the Sector report.

Croydon Community Energy was incorporated as a community benefit society by a group of local people in late 2021. Part of their aim is to help fulfil one of the recommendations of the Croydon Climate Commission, which released its final report earlier that year: to increase renewable energy generation by 10% annually.

Their current board of directors mostly includes experts in the renewables industry and engineering. They particularly need new directors with experience in business and finance. Details of the director roles to be filled and a form for applicants can be found on the society’s website: https://www.croydoncommunityenergy.co.uk/work-with-us

Anyone wishing to apply for one of the directorship roles should do so before 7 July, in time for the next AGM on 25 July at 7pm in Ruskin House, for which you can register here: https://www.croydoncommunityenergy.co.uk/event-details/cce-annual-general-meeting
