Volunteer at Addiscombe Railway Park, 1- 4pm Sunday 12 March @Addiscombe Park @AshburtonPark @LloydParkCR0

The pond repairs are proceeding well, so attention can now focus on other tasks:

  • There are bushes and trees over-hanging the footpath near the school exit. The trees were blown down in January and pose a risk to tall people and cyclists. The Council have asked the Friends group to cut back the branches.
  • One of the posts in the boggy area by the school was broken off a few months ago and needs to be replaced. It helps to support the honeysuckle and passion flower.
  • There has been no flooding along the bridge footpath for the frogs to spawn in, hence no spawning has taken place yet. We need to provide a temporary pool in the gravel to encourage spawning in that end of the park. Hopefully its not too late, and spawning may take place after the cold nights end later in March.
