
Croydon Astronomical Society was founded in 1956, holding tis first meetings in the home of Fred and Lilian Best at 26 Cedar Road. By the following year, the Bests had moved to 24 Blake Road and the meetings were held there.
The Society continue to hold regular meeting at Trinity School. The first will include talks on “Space missions planned for 2023” and “Telescopes: their design and operation”. Click here for more information https://www.croydonastro.org.uk/talks
The Society also open their observatory on the edge of Kenley Aerodrome to the public on most Saturday evenings when there are clear skies https://www.croydonastro.org.uk/observatory. No need to book, but check their Facebook page or website to find out if the observatory will be open before you go.
