The Boulevard was the early 20th century name for the stretch of the Addiscombe Road running from Bisenden Road to East Croydon Station. The planted areas and trees to the edge of the pavement are likely to be the the remains of the grounds of Brickwood House, which was demolished in 1908.
GoodGym is a charity which combines community service with keeping fit. Their Croydon branch has been helping to keep The Boulevard in order for several years. Their members will remove litter, ivy, weeds and overgrown shrubs from the planted areas.
If you live in the area, why not come and join them in improving your neighbourhood? Loppers and shears will be available, as well as litter-picks, protective gloves, hi-vis jackets and much more. Do bring your own equipment if you have it.
The meeting point is the corner of Bisenden Road & Addiscombe Road.
