Eight Goodgym volunteers were joined by four ECCO stalwarts: Ann from Cedar Road, Steve from Cumberland Court, Mike from Leslie Grove and me.
The twelve of us put in 45 minutes hard work clearing a load of litter and removing ivy and weeds from the planted areas of The Boulevard. We filled 31 bags, which have been taken away by Veolia.
This was Goodgym’s third visit of 2022. I am very grateful to their Team Leader Kate Bowden (in Conroy Barnett’s absence) for her support, and also to Tracey Bellamy and her colleagues, who spearhead the Council’s support of clean and green initiatives and who provide and collect the correct equipment on each occasion, and who also liaise with Veolia to ensure that the filled bags are (generally) quickly removed.
The Boulevard has had some attention from the Council. I shall be keeping a close look-out for overhanging branches to ensure that they get speedy attention from the Council’s grounds maintenance team.
